FAQ
How and when will my order be delivered?
I use Royal Mail's 'Signed For' service, which ensures your package arrives safely and is not dropped through your letterbox. The postage cost is calculated at checkout, and you can choose from a 24 or 48 hour service.
Do you ship outside the UK?
I don't currently offer delivery outside the UK, but hope to do so in the future. The best way to stay informed is to subscribe to emails at the bottom of this page.
What kind of packaging do you use?
Your piece will be wrapped in tissue paper and padding material to prevent it moving around in transit, then placed in a small cardboard mailing box with a 'fragile' sticker. No plastic is involved, and all packaging materials are recycled/recyclable.
What is your return and refund policy?
Items that have been damaged or broken in transit can be returned, with the choice of a free repair (if possible) or a refund.
If you simply change your mind and decide the piece is not for you, then you are welcome to return it in the original packaging within 10 working days of receipt. Unfortunately I can't pay for return postage, but I recommend you use Royal Mail's 'Signed For' service, as refunds cannot be issued for items that are lost in the post without proof of postage.
In either case, please let me know you are returning an item by emailing emma@meldjewellery.co.uk with the reason for return and the tracking details.
How do I care for my jewellery?
I suggest following a few golden rules:
Do not wear in water
Remove before sleeping
Avoid contact with make-up, perfumes, oils and lotions
Store in a protective bag, box, or tissue paper
Do not drop, or stack anything on top of your jewellery
Where else can I buy your jewellery?
Currently I only sell online, but I hope to start selling out in the wild at some point! To receive updates on this, as well as other news and offers, subscribe to my mailing list at the bottom of this page.
What materials are your pieces made of?
Components come from everywhere from flea markets to internet auction sites. I do my best to identify materials wherever possible, but without rigorous testing it's not always possible to know the exact composition. If you are allergic to any particular metals, I would suggest avoiding pieces where the materials have not been identified. All jewellery components are thoroughly cleaned in an ultrasonic device before making into new pieces. All new components, including earring wires and posts, are gold or silver-plated.
